Heritage trail

You may occasionally see groups of visitors walking with either interested or bemused faces around the village clutching little yellow pamphlets. They are usually groups from the U3A [University of the Third Age] doing the village heritage tour. The most recent group was the largest yet, 30 people from Wellingborough who accompanied Ian and Terry around the western end of the village, focusing mainly on the buildings and places associated with the Lovells and Pickerings.
The tour ended at the church where Julia Powell laid on one of her excellent ‘tea and cake’ spreads.
The proceeds of these walks – in this case over £75 – are donated to the church.
